Multifunctional Folded Space

‘Multifunctional folded space’ was a small durational academic studio project where the objective was to construct and deconstruct a basic 3d shape into functional reading space. To switch back into it’s primitive prism form, I had to divide the 3d geometry into a foldable pattern and also incorporated internal movement to compliment the rotational character of the outer foldable shapes.

Thus I conceptualized and further crafted a small scale prototype model for the design. This design practice was a good study of geometry and how it is interpreted in our everyday design.

Duration:4 days

Material for scaled prototype: Plastic wood

Proposed Material: Plywood Boards and solid wooden tracks
